Raqs Sharqi (Bellydance) 

This open level Belly Dance class includes a bit of everything that makes Belly Dance such a fantastic dance & practice for the body, mind & overall well being. In this class we practice technique, we work on choreographies, embodied movement and somatic practices. Learn about culture, history and traditions. 

What to wear?

  • Wear something you feel pretty and comfortable in. 
  • Shoes: socks or soft ballet shoes.
  • Scarf for the hips: If you have one bring it with you, if not I have some at the studio you could borrow or buy.

About the teacher:
Sarah Safi Harb, originally from Lebanon, founded The Dance Movement in 2010 and has since been offering Bellydance classes, workshops & private classes in The Netherlands & Online. Struggling with her mental health for the most part of her life she has used her love for Raqs Sharqi (oriental dance) as a tool to navigate through difficult times, and it is exactly those tools that have helped her through the hardest times that she now loves to share with you, hoping it can bring you relief, balance and even self love & pleasure! Sarah integrates her Lebanese background, knowledge of Yoga and holistic dance practices in her classes. Sarah’s vision is that every person has their own way of movement and dancing, she encourages people to find their own style and express their uniqueness. As it doesn’t matter how you dance, but how you feel and what you express while dancing!
