Contemporary Dance

Mondays 19:30 – 21:30

All classes are programmed for the different groups’ abilities, for dancers and non-dancers.  Contemporary basics.
* Highly physical and energetic. Classes developed from a series of modern and contemporary dance techniques such as: release technique, floor work and traditional dance vocabulary. They are essential to better understand the mechanics of the body in movement. Classes focus on awareness on the inner and outer space, change of dynamics and qualities of movements. Repetitions are used to consolidate the knowledge acquired during the session.  Improvisation and composition.
* Very playful session, they stimulate participant’s creativity on listen to their own body and Improving their sensorial awareness. Movements are developed by exploration and improvisation tasks to guide students to develop their own an unique way of creating movement materials to use on their personal dance creation. Main aim of the classes is to establish a creative or intimate conversation with the artistic self embedded in all of us. Classes offered are a combination of the two styles described.

I am a Dance maker, performer and a master student of Dance Movement Psychotherapy. Based in Rotterdam and the Hague area also teaching in Italy and UK. Key words to describe myself, my work   and the philosophy behind my teaching, artistry and practice are: Inclusiveness and Humanity. At the   core of any of my artistic researches there is always a gentle and intimate attention on the sense of self, experienced when  feeling/thinking/moving and watching the reality we all share. Creativity is for me intended as an encounter with our personal world in connection with the influences we get from our surroundings.
