A five-day embodied dance retreat in The Hague
19–23 October 2026
CLOUD/Danslab, The Hague
With Jérôme Meyer and Isabelle Chaffaud
Move beyond form and reconnect with your flow through dance, breathwork, creativity, somatic exploration and human connection.
For five days, you are invited into a living movement practice where the body can breathe, listen, play, release and remember its own intelligence.
This is not a performance-driven intensive.
It is not a generic wellness escape.
It is an intimate, immersive retreat for dancers, movers, yoga practitioners and conscious seekers who are genuinely open to embodied exploration. A place to feel invigorated, reset and inspired. A place to encounter movement not as something to perfect, but as a language of sensation, feeling and transformation.
You can join the complete five-day immersion or participate with individual daily tickets, depending on your availability and what you wish to explore.
Let movement transform what you carry
Let the flow of the unknown replace your sorrow.
When the same thought keeps circling, give it a movement. Repeat it. Allow it to become rhythm, direction, pressure or momentum. Instead of trying to solve every mental loop or inner conflict with the mind, explore how it might become a source of physical energy.
What happens when your body participates in finding a way through?
Perhaps the movement wants to grow. Perhaps it wants to disappear. Perhaps it needs to become fast, fragmented, repetitive, soft or completely still.
Put some volume on your movement, or put some volume on your silence.
Give form to what is present without needing to explain it. Allow sensation, breath and movement to reveal possibilities that thought alone may not be able to reach.
Breathe as though you were inhaling the nectar of life
Breath is not separate from movement. It gives movement rhythm, texture, space and vitality.
Throughout the retreat, you will be invited to breathe as though you were inhaling the nectar of life. Receive the breath with pleasure. Let it travel through you. Take time to savour it.
Notice what changes when you stop treating the breath as something automatic and begin to experience it as nourishment.
Can the inhale awaken your movement?
Can the exhale create softness and release?
Can breath carry you through effort without losing connection to yourself?
Through breath awareness and SOMA Breath practices, you will explore the relationship between breathing, movement, attention and energy.
Explore the intelligence of your anatomy
Feel yourself in 360 degrees.
Bring your attention to your front, your back, your sides and the places you rarely listen to. Explore your anatomy not only as a structure, but as a continuously communicating landscape.
Isolate a movement. Articulate it. Notice how moving one part of the body invites another part to respond.
Begin with a finger, a shoulder blade, the pelvis, the spine or the back of the knee. Follow the movement as it travels through the body. Notice where it becomes interrupted, transformed or amplified.
Let the body find its own solutions.
Instead of deciding what the movement should look like, allow your physical intelligence to guide you. Give the body enough time to organise, adapt and discover.
You do not need to force an answer. Sometimes the body already knows the next step.
Trust weight and gravity
Let gravity become a partner.
Give your weight to the ground and feel how the ground supports you in return. Become heavy like a stone. Let yourself arrive fully.
Then explore lightness.
What would it mean to feel light like a feather without escaping your weight? How can you rise, float or suspend while remaining connected to the ground beneath you?
Trust weight and gravity to inform the qualities of your movement. Fall without collapsing. Rise without forcing. Yield, push, soften and rebound.
Gravity does not only pull you down. It can help you understand direction, effort, momentum and support.
Enter a living space
Let the space around you become alive.
You are not moving inside an empty room. Every gesture enters a space, changes it and creates a relationship with it.
Follow a circle into a spiral. Let a spiral move through your spine, your limbs or your pathway across the floor.
Explore folding and unfolding. Reach inward and then outward. Make yourself small enough to listen, then allow the movement to expand beyond the familiar edges of your body.
How does the space receive you?
How do you receive the space?
Where does your movement begin, and where does it end?
Through solo, duet and group explorations, the studio becomes a shared field of attention, possibility and connection.
Explore feminine and masculine energies
Notice what you personally experience as feminine and masculine energy.
How do you recognise these qualities in your body? Do they appear through softness or directness, receptivity or action, fluidity or structure, yielding or support?
There is no fixed definition you need to follow.
Instead, you are invited to observe how these different energies live within you. Let them meet, overlap, exchange roles and surprise you. Move beyond habitual expressions and discover a wider range of ways to inhabit your presence.
Perhaps strength can contain softness.
Perhaps receptivity can be powerful.
Perhaps clarity can remain fluid.
These qualities do not have to oppose one another. They can coexist, communicate and transform.
Discover your speed, energy and softness
Go to the maximum speed available to you in this moment.
This does not mean pushing beyond your limits. It means listening carefully enough to recognise your current capacity, then meeting it with curiosity.
Let movement accelerate. Feel how speed affects your breath, attention, coordination and relationship to the space.
Then slow down.
Notice what becomes visible when the movement takes more time. Discover how much energy you can bring into a movement while keeping softness inside it.
Seek softness and release, not as passivity, but as another form of intelligence. Softness can help energy move through you without becoming trapped in unnecessary effort.
Take a creative risk
Make a movement you have never made before.
Follow an unfamiliar shape into a stretch, but do not force it. Allow yourself to be surprised by your body.
Take a creative risk. Let the movement be awkward, strange, playful or unfinished. Give the fool within you a turn.
You do not have to know where the movement is going before it begins.
Curiosity becomes a guide. Play becomes a form of research. The unfamiliar becomes an opportunity to step outside your usual movement patterns and meet another version of yourself.
Move underneath language
Let movement become a language of sensation and feeling.
Go into gibberish, beneath the level of familiar words. Allow sounds, rhythms and fragments of an unknown language to emerge.
Let a sound alter a movement.
Let the movement alter the sound.
Let the breath carry them both.
You are not trying to sing correctly or produce a particular kind of voice. You are exploring your body, breath and voice as one instrument.
What can be expressed before language becomes explanation?
Dance communicates through weight, rhythm, tone, proximity, hesitation, touch, speed and stillness. It allows us to meet experiences that cannot always be organised into sentences.
Put some volume on your silence
After movement, speed, sound and expression, allow the practice to become quieter.
Put some volume on your silence.
Let the movement become smaller. Notice the movements that remain almost invisible: the breath beneath the ribs, the shifting of weight, the vibration of sound after it has ended.
Seek softness and release.
Meditation and Yoga Nidra offer time to rest with what you have experienced. Instead of immediately interpreting or directing everything, allow yourself to receive.
What do you notice when you stop trying to produce an outcome?
Stay with that question.
Let the flow of the unknown move through your sorrow. When joy, gratitude or renewed energy appears, give yourself time to feel it throughout your body.
What feels clearer now?
What has become more spacious?
What can you trust in yourself, even while something remains unresolved?
The Flow Fusion approach
At the heart of the retreat is Flow Fusion, Jérôme Meyer’s approach to movement, energy and embodied awareness.
Flow Fusion begins with guided improvisation and extends into breath awareness, somatic listening, relational contact, creativity and contemplative presence. It creates a framework in which meditation, the movement of energy and dance are experienced as a continuous practice.
Jérôme’s approach is founded on the belief that our energy needs to circulate freely through the whole body. When energy is no longer held in repetitive patterns of tension or control, greater physical, emotional and creative possibilities can emerge.
The practice brings together four interconnected skills:
- Meditation
Developing awareness, presence and the capacity to listen without immediately reacting. - Breathwork
Using breath to support vitality, rhythm, release and connection. - Visualisation
Engaging imagination as a physical and creative resource. - Dance
Allowing energy, sensation and intention to become embodied movement.
Together, these practices create conditions for movement to become more fluid, responsive and alive.
Across the five days, you will explore:
- Flow Fusion
- SOMA Breath
- Shake practices
- Flow Contact
- Contact Improvisation
- Somatic movement research
- Intentionality work
- Solo exploration
- Duet exploration
- Meditation and integration
- Voice and gibberish
- Play, curiosity and creative risk
- Optional cold-water sea dips
- An optional internal sharing
All practices take place in a supportive and carefully held environment, with space to participate according to your own needs, boundaries and physical capacity.
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is for dancers and movers seeking the flow beyond the form.
It is for those who want to feel invigorated, inspired and reconnected to their creative energy. It also welcomes yoga practitioners and conscious seekers who are open to dance, improvisation, embodied research and genuine human connection.
You do not need to arrive with a particular movement vocabulary. What matters is your willingness to listen, explore and meet the unknown with curiosity.
The retreat may be especially meaningful if you are looking for:
- More freedom and fluidity in your movement
- A deeper connection to your body and breath
- Renewed energy and creative inspiration
- Greater trust in your physical intuition
- More sensitivity in relation to others
- A space to explore without performance pressure
- A balance between intensity, play, softness and rest
- A warm artistic environment where transformation can emerge
