Come experience Skin Hunger, an immersive, interdisciplinary performance in darkness!
Skin Hunger by Mireia Varón Gallofré, created in collaboration with Puck Füsers and Myra-Ida van der Veen, is the performative outcome of five years of research into making dance accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences.
Blending dance, poetry, and sound, the work explores the absence of touch and the echoes of skin memory.
Rooted in research and accessibility from its inception, Skin Hunger invites diverse audiences, particularly blind and visually impaired people, into a multisensory experience that goes beyond sight.
Throughout the piece, scent becomes costume, sound becomes movement, warmth becomes distance, and language triggers imagination.
What happens when touch is longed for, imagined, or remembered?
By removing sight, Skin Hunger investigates how intimacy, presence, and connection can be perceived through absence, memory, and embodied listening.
