‘THERE I AM HERE YOU ARE THERE’ explores complete darkness as a means to simultaneously mask and facilitate presence. In this piece, participants can explore how darkness intensifies the way we feel within ourselves, with others and our surrounding. Vests equipped with glowing magnets abstract the shape and movement of the body to single points of light. Spontaneous movement thus becomes the main influencing agent: a real-time catalyst for affect.

This piece was developed with with the kind support of the following test-audience: Mattia Marani, Luca Conte, Zoë D’Hont, Kasper van der Horst, Loes Roskam, Ábel Fazekas, Pepijn Cim Goudsblom, Vanessa Marcio, Max van der Wal, Julie Hasfjord, Orestes Willemen, Asami Kiuchi,Giovanni Salice, Fotis Rovolis, Sophia Bulgakova, Fazle Shairmahomed, Catherine Ostraya, Mabel Rae, Kay Churcher, Darien Brito, Aju Sheshtra.

The sensation of movement is shifting.  Shifting induces change within the space of the body or your body in relation to something else. We research change of weight, work on fluid movements and amaze ourselves about three-dimensionality of a gesture. A dance is also learned by moving yourself into it. Let us explore and enjoy in how that actually happens
