Nia – Joy of Movement

Fall 2022 schedule

Fridays 8:45-9:45 am

Sundays 9-10 am

What is Nia?

Nia is a dance practice that conditions your body and mind in unique ways. It is based on 35 years of program development inspired by the wisdom and artistry of a variety of dance arts, martial arts and healing arts.

With Nia, you learn to move and express yourself in ways that stimulate new parts of your physical, mental and emotional being. Through the Nia technique, you learn how to move safely, the way your body was designed. Every class has a separate focus and intention and combines choreography and free dance and various levels of intensity.

Nia is for every body and age. No prior dance experience is necessary. Just come and experience the joy of moving to soul stirring music. All you need is an open mind and loose and comfortable clothing. We dance barefoot.

Most people say they love Nia because they feel so good, grounded and positive after class. If you want to turn on your full body Joy, join us.

About your teacher

Kim Brice teaches Nia because of how she felt after taking her very first class: strong and stable, spacious and open, positive and at ease. She has earned 4 levels of certification. When she is not on the dance floor, she trains groups and individuals on stress management, mindfulness-based stress reduction and is a personal development coach.
